Spring semester has officially begun and yesterday I had my first meeting with Nate Pence, the Communications Creative Director at Method who was kind enough to offer thesis advisement for the next four months. I’ve had a thing for the company for a while and am looking forward to any and all wisdom imparted.

I tried out my wheatpaste recipe today by putting up some posters around the city. The verdict isn’t completely in as to its stick-worthy-ness but it looked good going on and hopefully it holds for a long time. If anyone is interested in doing any sort of postering be it pasting artwork, political posters or fliers for a show, wheatpaste is non-toxic as well as extremely cheap and easy to make.
The Basic Recipe
Mix one part wheat flour (e.g., 4 cups) with three parts water (e.g., 12 cups). Cook over medium heat until boiling, stirring constantly to remove all lumps. Lower heat and simmer for about a half hour. Serve in a lidded bucket with an old paint or sponge brush.
